Step 1

T: This is the first time to meet you. I’m so glad to see you and a little nervous.

  What’s your feeling?

  Do you always feel happy?

  Sometimes we feel happy sometimes mad, angry ...

  Can you show an angry face? (sad, happy, ...)

T: What’s the feeling do you think?

  Please read from P1-5 and try to find all the reasons.

   Her mother said: It’s her turn.

   Snatched away

   Sophie fell over

T: Now Sophie is angry.

Step 3

Show pictures

T: Please read the pictures and match the emotions with the pictures.

T: What does Sophie do to calm down?

She runs and runs and runs until she can’t run anymore.

She cries.

She sees the rocks, the trees and ferns. She hears a bird.

She comes to the old beech tree. She climbs.

She feels the breeze blow her hair. She watches the water and the waves.

She feels better now. She climbs back down and heads for home.

 

Get Ss to read the sentences to feel how she calm down.

T: Sophie likes to go to the beach when she is angry. The wind and the waves make her calm down.

T: Everyone gets angry sometimes. So it’s important to learn to comfort yourselves.

Write a note and put it on your desk to help you to remember.

It’s common to be angry but we should learn how to calm down.

What can we learn from the story?

 

 

 

课后反思

纵观本节课,整体的目标达成不错。学生能理解本课的主旨,愤怒的时候是可以发泄的,但学会排遣同样重要。语言上学生能掌握与运用本课的重点词汇,能描述事情发展的经过。

板书是本节课的一个亮点,随着Sophie情绪的变化,以一座火山的上坡及下坡表达情绪的起伏。学生易于理解并能比较自然地输出情绪的过程。

但存在如下问题:

教师的指令语稍多了,最后一个环节学生写作与展示的时间不够。
