Lesson 1 School and Friends

Lesson Type: Listening and Speaking

Resource analysis:

  The center topic of this lesson is new school life.Lesson 1 is the first part of Unit 1, and the seventh grade students just enter a new school with a new class and classmates. Introducing themselves and making friends with others are important and necessary. The conversation starts with “What’s your name? -My name is__. I am __.”  Students can use those conversations into their real school life. There are some videos about Jenny and Danny. Six name cards with photos about common English names;Bob, Mary, Lucy, LIly, Mike and Joe. They can help them be more familiar with those characters in the textbook. An English song Hello World is used to warm up.

Student analysis:The learning style of students has been, formed, 5%Of the seventh grade students are filled dependent, the teacher should give them more specific analyses of the conversation What’s your name? -My name is__. I am __.” to imitate them to do conversations in the class,95% of The students are field independent. The teacher should give them more time to conversation with their partners freely, because there is no new words for them, they have gotten about five hundred English words when they Finished the primary school. All the students have skills to do conversation with their partners. Students enter a new learning and living environment, there are many new students and teachers.It creates a harmonious and friendly learning atmosphere by introducing.

Taking it as an opportunity, students can accumulate basic self-introduction sentences.

Teaching Objectives:

1, knowledge and skills:

For the first part  Hello!.They have known six common names of foreign countries with the help of the flag pictures, they can introduce themselves of their names and countries. They also get the skill to capital lease the first letter of names and countries

For the second part How are you? 90% of the students master the knowledge about how to ask the name of others and describe their life.

  Hello, I’m li ming. I come from China. How are you ? I’m fine, thanks. Two conversations to cultivate students' cooperative learning attitude and competitive consciousness, and to make students experience the fun of communicating in English, and to stimulate students' active participation.

2 , procedures and methods :Under the guidance of the teacher, 90% of the students can actively participate in cooperative learning activities and introduce themselves using English thinking. They get a four numbers group to introduce each other to practice the sentence.

3 ,Affect,attitude and value: The harmonious class atmosphere can develop the awareness of sharing and learning from each other. By undestanding the difference between the two cultures,they become more and more interested in the culture of English. To introduce themselves can give them chances to make friends and express thanks ,and helps them become friendly.

Procedures

Warming-up:(8 minutes)

1, listening to an English song Hello world. Through the dialogue and music students are easily integrated into the study of this course.

While -learning (27 minutes)

1, Using the multimedia to display the pictures of six characters and flags.(5 minutes)

2, give students time to remember the words of names and countries.

3, display the video of Denny and Jenny ‘s dialogue (12minutes)

4, according to the video and text dialogue make sentences in their groups.(10 minutes)
